In a Benedectine monastery constructed in the 13th century and then used as a farmhouse for centuries, proprietors have beautifully restored this ancient property into a flourishing Agriturismo. The restoration has been made to complement the traditional architecture of "Gigliotto", with its expansive courtyard, arched entryways, and high beamed ceilings. Centered around a traditional Sicilian courtyard, there are 26 warm and comfortable rooms, one of which is accessible for disable people. All rooms are furnished with Sicilian furniture, equipped with bathrooms, and with traditional ceramic tile floors made in nearby Caltagirone.
In the Sala Grande dining room that can seat up to 150 people, you can sample traditional Sicilian cuisine with our selection of local cheeses and sausages, grilled roasts and meats, frittatas, and home made pasta. The cuisine is prepared with our organic olive oil grown and made in our own frantoio and the dining experience is complemented by organic wine made from black Avola grapes in our vineyard and traditionally harvested by hand.
Breakfast is served with simple, carefully chosen items with our local honey and homemade jams.
The services offered here are varied and many: horseback riding, hiking. There is also a conference room, a park with a playground for children, and a swimming pool. Guided activities include the possibility to take part in the seasonal harvest of mushrooms and wild asparagus, traditional Sicilian cooking classes, and specialty cooking courses in baked goods and jams according to the traditional farm recipes of the region

Piazza Armerina’s typical dishes are very simple and healthy. The meat, vegetables, cheese are still prepared like centuries ago. The wine is strong and high quality. The olive oil produced in this area is really tasty and famous. Piazza Armerina is the best starting place to visit Sicily.
